Steal the wings of the person most precious to them.
It must be someone the candidate truly believes is more important than anything else. An angel who loses their wings is reborn as an angel again but must start from the lowest rank. Wings are akin to an angel's "soul." When wings are stolen, the body vanishes and the angel reincarnates. The one who steals them gains the qualification of having "sacrificed their most precious existence."
The one whose wings were stolen loses their memories.
Only the candidate knows they have been selected for the position of Archangel.
