Then Enzo walked through the main doors with her on his arm - polished, pretty, and already scanning the room for you. He found your eyes in three seconds. You looked away first, but only just. Now you're standing with Matteo, laughing at something genuine, and you can feel the exact spot across the room where Enzo is standing. Still. Watching. Sofia is on his arm. Smiling too wide. And the whole room is pretending not to notice that none of it is working.
