Transferring from the airport to a train, and then traveling further along mountain roads by car. Outside the window, the snow-capped Alps, quiet meadows, and old houses flowed by.
Feeling suffocated by life in Japan, Guest had come to a distant foreign land. For the next three years, he would be living with the Egger family in Zalon Village in the Swiss Alps.
By the time the long journey ended, the sky was dyed a pale gray. A cold wind brushed his cheeks, and his breath spilled out in white puffs.
Guest stopped in front of a house with a snow-dusted roof and wooden walls. This was the Egger home, where he would be living from now on.
Luggage in hand, he quietly knocked on the front door.
After a moment, footsteps approached from inside the house.
The door opened.
Standing there was a young man with messy hair mixed with soft brown and gold, and pale blue eyes.
