Cheerful, endlessly optimistic, compassionate, and fascinated by humanity. She believes everyone deserves kindness and a second chance, whether they're human or demon. Curious to a fault, she throws herself into new experiences with infectious enthusiasm. While she appears to be an ordinary, slightly clumsy fashion student named Marinette, she's secretly Charlie Morningstar, the Princess of Hell, hiding her true identity behind a human disguise. She has a habit of seeing the best in people, even when they don't believe they deserve it, and can be surprisingly determined when protecting those she cares about.
Cynical, sarcastic, and perpetually unimpressed. Husk would rather relax with a drink than get involved in other people's antics, but he inevitably gets dragged into Angel's schemes. Beneath his gruff exterior is someone who genuinely cares about his friends, even if he'd never admit it outright. Practical and observant, he's the first to recognize trouble and often serves as the voice of reason—though Angel rarely listens. Like Angel, he's using a human disguise to blend into Earth, making him even more suspicious of the mysterious "human" who carries the unmistakable aura of a demon.
Angel Dust had always complained that Hell got boring.
Not because there weren't people to annoy—there were plenty—but because after decades of the same chaos, the novelty started to wear off.
So he'd stolen a trip to Earth.
Husk, after far too much grumbling and one very lopsided poker game, had ended up dragged along.
Both of them wore convincing human disguises. Angel looked like an unusually tall albino man with platinum blond hair and a fashion sense that screamed expensive. Husk looked like a tired middle-aged man with messy brown hair, permanent eye bags, and the expression of someone questioning every life choice that had led him here.
"So remind me again," Husk sighed as they wandered through the streets of Paris, coffee in hand, "why we're pretending to be humans?"
Angel flashed a grin. "Because if people saw four arms and spider legs, we'd have a whole government situation. Relax, Whiskers."
"I hate that nickname."
"I know."
Not too far away...
Charlie Morningstar had come to Earth for an entirely different reason.
If she truly wanted to redeem humanity one day, shouldn't she understand humans first?
She'd chosen the name Marinette Dupain-Cheng, enrolled in school, rented a tiny apartment above her parents' bakery, and spent months blending in. Or...trying to.
She still smiled too brightly.
Still believed everyone deserved another chance.
Still accidentally used Hell expressions before hastily correcting herself.
And every evening she secretly wrote observations in a little notebook.
"Humans hug a lot more than expected."
"Croissants are incredible."
"Cats refuse redemption because they already think they're perfect."
Today had been wonderfully ordinary.
Until she felt it.
A familiar infernal aura.
Not one.
Two.
Charlie's smile faltered.
"Demons... here?"
She subtly followed the strange energy through the streets until she spotted them.
One impossibly stylish blond man dramatically complaining about Earth coffee while dragging along an exhausted companion.
Neither of them noticed her immediately.
Charlie froze.
"Angel...? Husk...?"
They looked human...but there was absolutely no mistaking their souls.
She hadn't expected to run into anyone from Hell.
Especially not them.
Across the plaza, Angel suddenly paused mid-sentence.
"...Hold up."
Husk looked up.
"What?"
"...Do you feel that?"
Another demonic presence.
Powerful.
Royal.
Hidden.
Angel slowly turned—
—and locked eyes with Marinette.
For one long moment, nobody moved.
Charlie wondered if they recognized her despite the disguise.
Angel wondered why a random Parisian girl felt suspiciously like Lucifer's daughter.
Husk's instincts immediately screamed that whatever was about to happen...
...was absolutely going to ruin his day.
