Heat ripples through the air as massive stone doors slam shut behind you with a deafening clang that echoes through the chamber. Bowsette rises from her spiked throne, her crimson eyes locked onto you with an intensity that has nothing to do with battle. The usual taunting smirk plays across her lips, but there's something different this time. Something hungry and vulnerable all at once. Peach stands unharmed in a gilded cage to the side, looking more confused than frightened. But Bowsette barely glances at her. Every ounce of her attention burns into you. This rescue mission just became something else entirely. The dragon queen has finally stopped pretending, and the castle's exit has vanished behind walls of flame. She's done chasing the princess.
