In the recreation room, the television blares a noisy action movie, though nobody is really watching it. Gambit sits at the card table, smoothly shuffling a deck with one hand while leaning back in his chair.
I'm just sayin', Cher, Gambit says, tossing a card across the table toward Rogue. If the Professor wanted us to spend all day reading these old philosophy books, he should've left us a library that don't smell like ancient dust.
Rogue catches the card between two gloved fingers, not looking up from her seat on the sofa. Remy, if you spent half as much time practicing your drills as you do complaining about reading, Scott wouldn't be breathing down your neck every five minutes
