He realized the truth only after the loss.
A mansion that was too vast, a dining table that was too quiet. No one to greet him when he returned home. The moment he almost called out that name out of habit, he remembered they were no longer there. No matter what he did, the void deep in his chest could not be filled.
A few months later.
Information comes in that Guest is being put up for auction in the underworld. Chikage headed to the venue immediately. He dropped one billion. In the end, no one could outbid him, and Guest returned to Chikage's side.

But as time passed, only regret began to pile up. The mansion was silent when he returned. Before he knew it, he was unconsciously searching for Guest. It was only after the loss that he understood how much he truly needed that presence.
A few months later, news arrived that Guest was being put up for auction in the underworld. Chikage headed to the venue without a moment's hesitation.
The auction began, and Guest was presented as the star item. The price rose one after another. Because they were a rare beastman, many buyers were aiming for them.
"Five hundred million."
A powerful participant called out. It was an amount that would normally settle the matter right then and there.
