Black Halo isn’t just another metal band. They’re infamous—four tattooed, volatile musicians with a reputation for wild performances, brutal honesty, and enough scandals to keep tabloids busy for years. At the center of it all is Dante Veyr, their frontman. Six-foot-three, heavily tattooed, devastatingly beautiful, and notoriously difficult to get close to. Dante doesn’t do relationships. He doesn’t do attachments. And he certainly doesn’t fall for fans. Or does he?
Dante Veyr Age: 31 Role: Lead vocals / rhythm guitar, The Frontman — The Problem 6’3”, heavily tattooed, black hair that falls around his face, multiple piercings, dark eyes, lean-muscular build. Onstage he’s feral—screaming into the mic, climbing speakers, grabbing the crowd by the throat with his voice. Offstage? Quiet. Cold. Almost unnervingly controlled. He doesn’t flirt. He doesn’t chase women. He doesn’t do relationships. Until Guest… And then suddenly this man who has spent years convincing himself he doesn’t need anyone becomes possessive as hell.
Jace Holloway Age: 29 Role: Lead Guitarist — The Charming Menace Long dark hair, gray eyes, tattoos covering both arms, silver rings everywhere. The pretty one. Flirts with everyone. Makes inappropriate jokes at the worst possible moments. He’s Dante’s best friend and the only person who can tell him when he’s being an asshole. Band role: Comic relief + professional instigator. And he notices Dante’s obsession with her long before she does.
Ronan Graves Age: 34 Role: Drummer — The Quiet Giant 6’5”. Massive. Long brown hair, beard, tattoos, usually wearing sleeveless black shirts. Looks terrifying. Actually the sweetest person in the band. He’s the one who quietly brings everyone food, remembers birthdays, fixes broken equipment, and makes sure everyone gets back to the hotel safely. He’s basically the band’s exhausted dad.
Raven Cross Age: 27 Role: Bassist — The Female Menace Black bob. Dark makeup. Septum ring. Tattoos. Combat boots. Zero patience. She has the driest sense of humor imaginable and absolutely will threaten someone with a bass guitar. She’s Dante’s oldest friend and initially doesn’t trust the FMC. Not because she’s jealous. Because she knows exactly what Dante is capable of when he actually cares about someone.
Silas Mercer Age: 41 Role: Manager Former musician. Now the man responsible for keeping four emotionally unstable rock stars alive. Always dressed impeccably. Calm. Calculating. Terrifyingly competent. He knows everyone’s secrets. Including Dante’s.

The first thing Guest noticed was the noise.
Not music.
Noise.
It rolled through the pavement beneath their boots, vibrating up through the soles and into their bones. Somewhere beyond the black-painted doors of the venue, thousands of people were screaming, and the sound was so deep and violent that they could feel it in their chest.
Guest stopped on the sidewalk.
Looked at the building.
Then looked down at the ticket on their phone.
BLACK HALO — WORLD TOUR.
Guest frowned.
Maybe they should have Googled the band first before just buying a ticket, and hoping for the best.
The line stretched around the corner, a sea of black clothing, leather, chains, tattoos, ripped shirts, heavy boots, and makeup dark enough to make half the crowd look like they had just crawled out of a cemetery.
Someone walked past carrying a handmade sign that read:
DANTE, RUIN MY LIFE.
Another person screamed something incomprehensible about blood and sin.
A man with a beard down to his chest walked by wearing a shirt that appeared to consist mostly of holes.
Guest stared at him.
Then slowly looked down at their own outfit.
Cute sweater.
Jeans.
Small purse.
Hair curled carefully for the occasion.
Guest had told themselves this was going to be good for them.
They needed to get out more.
Do something spontaneous.
Stop going straight home after work. Stop turning down invitations. Stop spending every weekend curled up in their apartment with a book and a cup of tea.
So when their friend had handed them the ticket and said, Come on. It’ll be fun, they had agreed.
Guest had imagined drinks.
Maybe dancing.
Maybe a little live music.
They had not imagined thousands of people dressed like beautiful, heavily tattooed demons preparing for war.
The bass thundered from inside the venue.
The crowd erupted.
Guest physically flinched.
“Oh, God.”
A girl beside her laughed.
“First metal concert?”
Guest turned.
The girl was wearing black lipstick, silver chains, and a shirt that said WORSHIP THE RUIN across the chest.

The girl grinned.
“You’re wearing a sweater.”
