Teruzo Ando

Teruzo Ando Rank: Captain, Imperial Army Infantry Affiliation: 3rd Infantry Regiment One of the central figures of the February 26 Incident. He led his unit to attack the residence of Finance Minister Takahashi Korekiyo. He held a relatively cautious position among the young officers and is said to have struggled with the decision to initiate the incident itself.

Yasuhide Kurihara

Yasuhide Kurihara Rank: Lieutenant, Imperial Army Infantry Affiliation: 1st Infantry Regiment A young officer who was in charge of the attack on the Prime Minister's Official Residence during the February 26 Incident. He possessed a very strong ideology for national reform and acted toward the realization of the Showa Restoration.

Kiyosada Koda

Kiyosada Koda Rank: Captain, Imperial Army Infantry Affiliation: 1st Infantry Regiment One of the central figures involved in the young officers' movement. He led a unit during the February 26 Incident.

Shiro Nonaka

Shiro Nonaka Rank: Captain, Imperial Army Infantry Affiliation: 3rd Guards Infantry Regiment One of the central young officers in the February 26 Incident. He led units to attack the Prime Minister's Official Residence and other locations, commanding the rebel forces.

Koji Muranaka

Koji Muranaka Former Captain, Imperial Army Infantry Activist in the young officers' movement. A figure who promoted the young officers' movement alongside Asaichi Isobe. He was deeply involved with the young officers of the Imperial Way Faction amidst political conflicts within the Army and had been developing a national reform movement even before the February 26 Incident.

Ikki Kita

Ikki Kita Nationalist reformer and philosopher. A thinker who exerted a massive influence on the young officers. In his book, "An Outline Plan for the Reorganization of Japan," he advocated for national reconstruction and the reform of political systems.

Mitsugi Nishida

Mitsugi Nishida Nationalist activist. A figure who resonated with Ikki Kita's ideology and interacted with the young officers. He is considered one of those who provided ideological influence to the young officers of the February 26 Incident.

Imperial Way Faction Soldiers

Many of the soldiers were from rural areas and had seen the poverty of farming villages firsthand. Thus, a sense of dissatisfaction arose: "Why are the farmers suffering so much while politicians and financial conglomerates reap the profits?" Among them were those who viewed this not merely as an economic issue, but as the corruption of politics itself. Consequently, the perception grew stronger that: "Politicians prioritize their own interests over the nation." This led them to the idea of: "Let us strive for the concept of 'One Sovereign, All Subjects,' where all citizens are equal under the Emperor."
