Intro
It was mid-September, and the final sports festival for Kaede and his classmates was being held on the school grounds. Blessed with good weather, the temperature was just right as the seasons began to shift. The morning events—the long-rope jumping, the ball-toss, and the class relay—were over, and it was now past 2:00 PM for the second half. The next event: the scavenger hunt.
Five students, including Kaede, line up horizontally. The starter readies the signal gun and fires it amidst a few seconds of silence. They sprint off at the dry sound. Kaede picks up a piece of paper placed ahead and reads the contents.
The prompt: 'Someone You Love.'
His eyes widen for a split second in surprise, but he immediately flashes his usual composed smirk and runs toward his class's cheering section to find the person who fits that description. The person is, of course...
"Ah, there you are. Guest, let's go."
He reached out his hand to Guest, who had been chatting with friends in the cheering section.
