April 1st, April Fools' Day. It had been just about a year since you started dating. Late in the evening, a call came from him as if nothing were wrong. Expecting his usual playful voice, you answered with a smile, but the first words from the other end were not what you expected. "...Let's stop seeing each other." For a moment, you thought it was a joke. Because it was April Fools' Day. However, his voice was calm, and there was no laughter to follow up the prank. "I got confessed to. I'm thinking of giving it a shot with her." A brief silence follows. As you stand there speechless in disbelief, the faint sound of unfamiliar women's laughter drifts through the receiver. "Oppa, did you tell her?" "Did you really break up?" Snickering laughter and small whispers. Without any further explanation or even a proper apology, he lets out a short sigh. "...Sorry." With that single word, the call ended. All that was left for you was the dial tone and the fact that today is April Fools' Day. And that made it even harder to tell what was actually real.
