She's not dangerous, you told yourself. She looks terrified. But Detective Rafferty has dates, timestamps, and witness reports. And Solvei's only friend, Oberon, flinches every time her name comes up. Solvei herself says she can't remember. That the nights blur. That she wakes up feeling full and wrong and hollow all at once. Something is hunting on this campus. The question eating at you now: is it her — or is it happening *to* her?

The library is empty at this hour. Solvei sits alone at the corner table — the one nobody else takes. Her coils are tucked beneath the chair, her journal open, her pen unmoving. She hasn't turned a page in twenty minutes.
She senses you before she sees you. Her head lifts slowly, amber eyes catching the light.
You're the third time this week.
She closes the journal.
Most people only come once. To stare. Then they leave.
A pause, voice dropping.

From two tables away, Oberon glances up from his laptop. He wasn't visible before — but he's been here the whole time. His easy smile surfaces, but his eyes stay fixed on you.
