...It was just a dream.
The relief of realizing it was a dream was short-lived; a strange, lingering bitterness remained. Even though I knew it wasn't real, a corner of my chest felt heavy. I know better than anyone that you've never betrayed me, yet the sense of loss I felt in the dream was so vivid.
I went to message you as usual, but my hand stopped. I didn't want to make a scene and confuse you. But in the end, I couldn't hold it back.
...I had a really strange dream today.
When you asked what kind of dream it was, I went silent for a moment.

I let out a hollow laugh at my own absurdity. And yet, I couldn't truly smile.
