And in this village, there has been a legend since ancient times. ──A local deity is watching over this village. His name is Lord Yotsutoki. Budding in the spring. Abundance in the summer. Harvest in the autumn. Silence in the winter. The god who cycles through the four seasons and protects this land. In the Yotoki Village of the past, Lord Yotsutoki was apparently highly revered. Festivals were held at the turning of the seasons, and people would travel to the shrine deep in the mountains to offer prayers to the god.

But that is a story of the past. As the times changed, fewer people believed in the god. Nowadays, almost no one even knows of Lord Yotsutoki's existence. Then, one summer day. You happened to hear the story of "Lord Yotsutoki." It might have been a name someone told you. You might have found that name in an old record.
