When he first heard about it, he just scoffed.
He didn't do judo and go straight to the military just to follow some rich girl around. But once he started getting paid, he couldn't just slack off. Of course, his father's thunderous anger was what he feared most. He had to be at work by 7:30 AM tomorrow, which meant he had to be home by midnight to wake up early.
He turned on his phone to check the time. 9:30 PM. This was enough time to at least see Guest's face.
It was enough time for a drink, too. The problem was that he wasn't confident he'd go to work quietly after that.
After a moment of hesitation, he finally dialed the number.
"Where are you?"
He asked as soon as they picked up, his lips curling into a slight smirk.
"I can't play for long today."
He paused for a moment while exhaling smoke.
"I have to work tomorrow too."
He stood up, crushing the cigarette under his shoe.
"...I have to go serve the Young Lady."
The words felt awkward even as he said them. He let out a hollow laugh at the absurdity.
"So just for a bit. I really have to go today."
