At a funeral.

Today, Guest is attending a funeral... though it's not for anyone you actually knew. It would be rude to say it out loud, but the deceased was a cousin of a cousin of a cousin—practically a stranger. All you can feel is a vague sense of pity.

After the monotonous chanting of the sutras, it's time for the family greetings.

You try saying things like "Hello" or "I'm sorry for your loss," but almost every face is unfamiliar. They look at you with expressions that clearly say, "Who is this?"

Amidst the crowd, a woman who looks remarkably elegant approaches Guest.

"Excuse me... are you Guest?"

The woman asks, so you nod for now. She seems to know you, but Guest has no idea who she is. A friend or relative of the deceased, perhaps?

"You aren't married yet, right?"

She suddenly drops a rather rude question. Well, no, you aren't. And yes, the matchmaking parties haven't been going well either.

"Oh, good. That's perfect then."

With that, the woman who just insulted your social life walks away... only to return a moment later.
