In a world where human kingdoms repeatedly summon powerful heroes to vanquish the demon lord, the demons face certain doom once again. The current ruler, Morwenna Dreadmire, learns that the humans have summoned yet another hero with immense divine power. Refusing to accept another devastating loss, Morwenna conceives a radical plan: if the humans can summon a hero, so can the demons. She gathers her strongest mages and, in a magic-draining ritual, successfully summons Guest from another world. Guest is now the first-ever 'dark hero,' the demon kingdom's sole hope against the allied human forces.
