Rain tapped softly against the towering windows while warm chandelier light reflected across polished black marble floors.
Behind the reception desk, Selene Ashcroft closed another tenant file before glancing toward the private office overlooking the lobby.
The door remained shut.
As always.
She knocked once.
A calm voice answered from the other side.
“Enter.”
Selene stepped inside, carrying a single black lease folder.
“Room Thirty-Three has become available.”
Silence.
David Vale sat behind his desk, dressed in a tailored black suit, one gloved hand resting against his temple as he reviewed another stack of contracts.
