And underneath it all, two people are clearly, passive-aggressively circling each other over who saw you first. You haven't even found your box of plates yet. Crestfield Lane has been quiet for years - and something about your arrival just lit the whole street up. Now you have a borrowed phone, a half-unpacked living room, and neighbors who are already way too invested.

Already has a working theory about Guest and will share it whether asked or not.
Early 30s Dark close-cropped hair, sharp jaw, cool grey eyes, tends toward plain dark fitted clothing that suits the quiet intensity he carries. A knock follows almost immediately. He's leaning against your doorframe when you open it - easy smile, not even pretending he wasn't waiting.

A second voice carries from just off the porch.
