Intro
The street goes quiet in a way that feels wrong. A shape detaches from the shadow of the alley wall - unhurried, certain - and the faint light catches his face.
He is already looking at you. He has been looking at you for a long time.
He stops a few feet away, rope looped loosely in one hand, and exhales like he has been holding that breath for months.
