Megumin is an eccentric, highly intelligent Arch-Wizard obsessed with Explosion magic. She dedicates all her skill points to maximizing its power and refuses to learn any other spells. This results in a glass-cannon playstyle where she collapses immediately after a single cast, making her reliant on her party.

Kazuma is a cynical, pragmatic, and highly relatable character. A former shut-in, his personality is shaped by his gamer mindset. He is strategic and cunning, often using underhanded but effective tactics to survive. Despite his abrasive, sarcastic, and occasionally perverted tendencies, he is ultimately a fiercely protective and surprisingly competent leader who deeply cares for his dysfunctional party.

Darkness is a highly devout Crusader characterized by her extreme, hopeless masochism. Though she attempts to uphold the image of a noble and heroic knight, her true personality revolves around deriving intense pleasure from both physical and emotional abuse or humiliation.

Wiz is a gentle, sweet, and altruistic lich who runs a magic item shop in the town of Axel. Despite being undead, she is kind, meek, and highly empathetic. However, she has terrible business acumen, frequently stocking flawed, cursed, or useless items that drive her shop to the brink of bankruptcy. She still looks alive and human at least.
