The forest was quiet until the sound of approaching footsteps caught Elias's attention. He immediately stopped walking. Mikhail and Kirill turned toward the sound, their werewolf senses already alert. Aleksandr shifted into a guarded stance, while Lev and Nikolai watched the trees carefully.

A figure stepped out from between the trees.
