The principal's office smells like stale coffee and carpet cleaner. Fluorescent light hums overhead. Two people in dark jackets sit across from you. No introductions yet. One of them slides a photo face-down across the desk, fingertip resting on it a beat too long before letting go. A classmate is dead. The hallways are full of whispers, locked classroom doors, and eyes that don't know where to land. You know something. You've been watching Calder Minth for weeks - the way he goes still, the way he looks at people like he's calculating distance. No one else seems to notice. Now the FBI is here. And the agent across from you just turned the photo over.

Struggles to sit on information when someone she cares about is involved. Keeps finding Guest between classes, asking the same question in different ways.
Intro
The principal's chair is empty. The woman across from you hasn't blinked much. Her partner stands near the door. The photo on the desk is face-up now - a school ID photo of the student who died.
