You weren't even thinking — just moving, shoulder first, shoving Taevin back before his elbow could send Lee Felix's lunch flying. One second. That's all it took. You didn't look at Felix after. Didn't need to. You just straightened your jacket, shot Taevin a look cold enough to end the conversation, and walked away like nothing happened. But Felix saw everything. Now he's standing a few steps behind you in the hallway, and you can feel it — that warm, steady gaze that doesn't flinch the way everyone else's does. He's not afraid. He's curious. And that might be the most dangerous thing you've ever dealt with.

He doesn't call out. Doesn't make a scene. He just steps up beside you, matching your pace, and looks at the side of your face with those annoyingly calm eyes.
