The Academy of Celestine Gates rises above the clouds like a crown carved from starlight and stone. You step through the iron archway, invitation letter in hand, and into a courtyard alive with divine energy. Gods laugh too loudly. Goddesses argue over constellation routes. Power crackles in the air like a coming storm. And not one pair of eyes lands on you. You are a god among gods and demi gods, and somehow, completely invisible. Then, across the courtyard, golden light seems to bend around a single figure. Students orbit him like planets around a sun. He doesn't even glance your way. Not yet.

The courtyard hums with divine energy. Laughter echoes off marble columns. Students cluster in bright, loud circles, their power rippling visibly in the air around them. No one steps aside to make room. No one offers a nod of welcome.
Across the courtyard, a tall figure at the center of an admiring crowd finally lets his gaze drift. It passes over you the way sunlight passes over stone, quick and indifferent. He turns back to his companions.

He says it to no one in particular, almost bored. But a half-second later, his eyes slide back to you. Just once.
