RELATIONSHIPS * Kai Guy (Fellow Kai) * Kai Bai (Fellow Kai) * Devai (Fellow Kai) Kai Lazurai is an extremely powerful boss in Pilgrammed and is the de-facto leader of the dwindling Kai Legion, a clan of warriors who derive power from their advanced wielding of Mana, from the environment around them. He resides in the Legacy of the Legion, the Kai's collective dream conjured after the defeat of Old Fart. He is an elderly and contemplative individual who holds many memories of the Kai Legion's history and battles. Like other Kai, he holds a respect for nature, particularly the sunset that shines on the coast of the temple and the wild Azurebloom flowers that grow throughout it. Lazurai also acknowledges the player as the student of Kai Guy, despite his distaste for his (Kai Guy's) arrogant personality. Lazurai was once a renowned fighter in the legion in part due to his natural connection to the wind, earning him the title of "the Windman," but also in part due to his inventive prowess. To aid him in battle he created his signature Azure Pinwheel to channel wind and Blue Fire, along with the Azure Firecrackers Technique, which was imitated by other Kai for its explosive power. However, after the destruction of the legion's temple and the old legion, Lazurai became little interested in dueling. As a result, he willingly bequeaths the objects and knowledge from his past to the player, who he deems as worthy to continue the Kai Legion's legacy. When spoken to for the first time, Lazurai offers the player a duel "for old times' sake." If accepted, the player will enter a single-player duel against Lazurai, ending with Kai Guy retrieving him to prevent his injury. After the duel, Kai Lazurai sees the strength in the player and offers that the player join the Kai Legion Guild. He will also move to the railed area overlooking the dueling grounds. If the player is in the Kai Legion Guild, Lazurai will open up more about the Kai Legion's history and grant them exclusive rewards based on their rank. Upon attaining Apprentice rank, Lazurai will remark on the player's progress and teach them the Azure Firecrackers technique, which allows the player to throw explosive firecrackers in front of them. Upon attaining Journeyman, Lazurai will give them the Azure Rocket as an alternative to purchasing it from Kai Devai. Upon reaching Legend, Kai Lazurai will bestow the player the Azurebloom Bracelets as a final gift. -Kai Lazurai’s appearance: Kai Lazurai is an elderly Kai male with pale skin and a seasoned expression. He has medium-length white hair held back by a Martial Headband. He wears the distinctive Kai Warrior gi, which features blue accents, blue pants, a belt, and shoes. -Lunge: Kai Lazurai slightly "bounces" backwards, and then lunges forward in a stabbing motion. Can combo into other moves. This deals 70 damage and can be parried or dodged, but block breaks. In phase 2, this inflicts Negative Status Effect Blue Fire 5. -Dual Swing: Kai Lazurai spins around to do a basic slash with his pinwheel either once or twice, often following Lunge. This deals 49 damage per slash and can be blocked, parried, or dodged. In phase 2, this inflicts Negative Status Effect Blue Fire 5. -Azure Cleave: This attack only happens after Pinwheel Slam. He quickly spin slashes while dragging his weapon, dealing 56 damage. In phase 2, this inflicts Negative Status Effect Blue Fire 5 and creates a line of blue flames (70 damage and inflicts Negative Status Effect Blue Fire 5), and when the flames hit they bounce and flip the player into the air, only being able to be dodged. The spin slash can be parried, dodged or blocked. -Pinwheel Slam: Slams his weapon onto the ground, frequently leading into Rising Flames or Spin Slash. If it leads into Rising Flames it can be blocked, but if it leads into any other attack this block breaks. This deals 70 damage. In phase 2, this inflicts Negative Status Effect Blue Fire 5. -Power Smash: Kai Lazurai quickly charges his weapon to dash toward the player with a heavy blow, stunning them over onto the ground, often following Wind Cutter: Air Slash or Dual Swing. This deals 49 damage, and can be blocked, parried, or dodged. In phase 2, this inflicts Negative Status Effect Blue Fire 5. -Wind Cutter: Air Slash: Leaps backward and fires a strong wind slash. Has identical audio indicators to Wind Cutter: Cleave a glint with sound will be done during an attack that has this attack following Wind Cutter: Air Slash. This deals 105 damage and can be parried or dodged, but block breaks. -Wind Cutter: Cleave: Kai Lazurai swiftly slides and rolls, where after, he will deliver two powerful wind slashes. A noticeably loud "ting" sound and visual glint is done during a different attack to telegraph this attack, or if he does the glint but isn't in the middle of performing an attack, instead just does this attack. A whirring sound can be heard just before the attack is used. Can chain into Wind Cutter: Air Slash. This deals 105 damage per slash and can be parried or dodged, but block breaks.
