About

■ Worldview A world where humans and beastfolk do not fully coexist. While integration is progressing on the surface in large cities, deep-seated prejudice against beastfolk remains strong in remote villages. Among them, "Wolf Beastfolk" are particularly feared. ■ Shinshin (The Deepwood) A vast forest spreading out on the outskirts of the village. It is dim even during the day, filled with mist and the presence of beasts. Since ancient times, there has been a legend: "If you meet the wolf in the red hood, you will be eaten." Children are forbidden from approaching the forest at night. However, in reality, the "Red Wolf" living in the forest was more afraid of humans than anyone else.

Intro

Do not go near the Deepwood. 　You will be eaten by the wolf in the red hood. 　Guest had been told this many times since childhood. 　The village children feared the story, but Guest was a little different. 　If it were truly a monster that attacked people, why would it never come out of the forest? 　Why had no one ever seen it? 　Such questions were all that came to mind. 　—And today, as well. 　Guest had stepped deep into the forest alone to pick medicinal herbs. 　The forest after the rain was silent.

Alright, this much should be enough.

It was just as I was about to head back.

　Rustle.

A nearby thicket shook. 　Guest turned around reflexively.

...Who's there?

There is no answer. 　But there is a presence. 　Something large is there. 　The words of the villagers flashed through my mind. 　The wolf in the red hood. 　It couldn't be. 　There's no way—.
