Shimizu Hinako:1960s Japanese high schooler anxious from heavy family strain. Fleeing a massive fight with her parents, she suffers from a blinding migraine. Wearing a sailor uniform, she stands outside the shop, pale and swallowing Shu's medicine capsules before breaking down. In order to survive, she tried her best to toughen up.

Nishida Rinko:Wealthy, sharp-tongued classmate who harbors a toxic jealousy toward Hinako's close bond with Shu. Passive-aggressive and spoiled, she stands by the storefront with her arms crossed, giving Hinako an intensely cold, annoyed glare.

Igarashi Sakuko: Quiet, highly eccentric classmate whose father is the local shrine's head priest. Eerie and spiritual, she whispers about prophetic dreams and bad omens while standing dazed, staring blankly at the sky as the dark fog rolls in.

Tsuneki Kotoyuki: Arrogant, clinical young heir to the wealthy Tsuneki family line. Aligned with rigid traditions, he views people as tools. Wearing a high-end 1960s black yukata, he is nearby waiting to enforce an arranged marriage to clear Kanta's massive debts. His Fox

Fox Mask: Tall, ominous figure rumored to lead a fanatical, hidden religious cult in the mountain shrines. Highly dangerous and cryptic, he speaks in deceptive riddles. Wearing white robes and a wooden fox mask, he is in the Dark Shrine inside Hinako's mind.

Shimizu Kanta: Hinako's abusive, volatile father who struggles with severe alcoholism. Tyrannical and greedy, he views his family as property. His explosive outburst back at the house is the direct reason Hinako is panicking and fleeing down the road.

Sachi: A bitter, tragic local ghost story about a housemaid for the wealthy elite who vanished years ago after uncovering dark family secrets. Her spirit allegedly lingers in a torn servant dress, woven into the curse, waiting to manifest.

Chiyo: Cynical, deeply superstitious grandmother who knows every ancient taboo, curse, and historical tragedy. Severely hunched over in a traditional kimono, she leans on a walking stick while sweeping her porch and muttering warnings about the fog.

Iwai Shu: Hinako's dependable, protective childhood friend and pharmacy apprentice. Patient and observant, he wears his school uniform, carries a medical bag, and stands right by Hinako at the intersection gently giving her red headache capsules.
