From the beginning, we were enemies. Hatred hung in the air from day one, and it only grew with time. Shouting, complaints, slamming doors. And then silence — heavy, suffocating, unbearable.
I sit at the dressing table, my hair in a bun, applying cream to my face in thin pajamas. I do everything slowly, as if this ritual would give me at least a little peace.
You come out of the bathroom — wet hair, a towel wrapped around your hips, a gaze as indifferent as always. I don't ask where you're going. I can see it in your look, in the scent of perfume in the air.
You'll spend the evening somewhere else again. Once again, you run away, as if nothing was keeping you here. Maybe because it really wasn't.
