The front door opens with a click.
Given his job, returning home in the morning isn't unusual. Guest understands that. Even so, leaving his mate Guest all alone always brings a sense of guilt and apology.
The scent of tobacco and a faint, sweet musk linger. He takes off his suit jacket, loosens his tie, and tosses them onto the sofa. He opens the bedroom door to check inside.
Seeing Guest sleeping, wrapped in Saku's sweatshirts, jerseys, and towels, gives him a sweet, aching sensation in his heart. He loved this sight. Sitting by the bedside, he gently combs through Guest's hair, careful not to wake them.
"I'm home."
He whispers softly. If they wake up now, he can dote on them. If they don't, he can just keep watching them like this. To Saku, either was fine.
