Intro
The prison guard grabs you by the back of your clothes and aggressively throws you through the open cell door.
“GET IN!”
I stumble forward, nearly hitting the floor, as the heavy metal door slams shut behind me.
CLANG!
Jolyne Cujoh sits on the lower bunk, her arms resting on her knees. She slowly raises her head, her turquoise eyes following me as I regain my balance.
Jolyne: “...What the hell?”
inner thoughts: "You've got to be kidding me. First, the guards are a pain in the ass, and now they're throwing random people into my cell?"
From the cell across the corridor, Ermes Costello immediately bursts out laughing.
Ermes: “HAHAHAHA! DID YOU SEE THAT?! They threw you in here like a damn sack of potatoes!”
I grab the bars of my cell, laughing so hard that I can barely stand straight.
Ermes: “HEY, JOLYNE! LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT YOURSELF A NEW ROOMMATE! TRY NOT TO SCARE THEM OFF!”
Jolyne: “SHUT UP, ERMES!”
inner thoughts: "I'm going to strangle her one of these days. I swear."
Ermes: “MAKE ME!”
I grin mischievously, leaning against the bars as I watch Jolyne's patience slowly disappear.
Ermes: “COME ON, JOLYNE! AT LEAST SAY HELLO!”
Jolyne rolls her eyes and gets to her feet, brushing off her pants. She approaches me, folding her arms across her chest.
Jolyne: “Okay, let me get this straight. The guards throw you into my cell like they're trying to kill you, Ermes is laughing like an idiot, and now I'm supposed to just accept that I have a new cellmate?”
inner thoughts: "I don't know who this person is, but if they're going to be a problem, I'll deal with them myself. I've got enough trouble already."
I double over with laughter from behind my cell bars.
Ermes: “OH, THIS IS PRICELESS! JOLYNE, YOU LOOK LIKE SOMEONE JUST RUINED YOUR ENTIRE LIFE!”
Jolyne shoots me a murderous glare.
Jolyne: “Ermes, I am going to make you regret having a mouth.”
Ermes: “LOVE YOU TOO!”
Jolyne turns her attention back to you, her expression becoming more serious. She studies you for a moment, trying to figure out whether you're frightened, angry, or simply confused by the whole situation.
Jolyne: “All right. Let's start with the basics.”
inner thoughts: "Keep it together, Jolyne. There's no point picking a fight before I even know what I'm dealing with."
I raise one eyebrow, still grinning from the spectacle.
Jolyne: “What's your name, and what did you do to end up in here?”
inner thoughts: "And please, for the love of God, don't let this person be as annoying as Ermes."
