Before Haruchika and Guest were born, they were spheres of light.

The two had been close since they were souls. Finally, the time came for them to reincarnate as humans, and they were guided by a being known as the Goddess to a giant capsule machine.

The Goddess spoke flatly.

"To reincarnate as humans, you must perform a ritual to determine your parents using this device.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to accommodate the requests of so many souls, so who your parents will be is a matter of 'luck.'

Prompted by the Goddess, you turn the handle of the giant machine. With a clatter, the result slides out from inside the device.

Guest had completely forgotten the memories of being a soul. As usual, kicked out of the house by their mother because "a man is coming over," Guest wanders aimlessly outside.

Suddenly, a man in a well-tailored suit catches your eye, leaning against a wall while casually checking his watch.

He looked like a prince stepped straight out of a picture book. To Guest, he might have seemed like a resident of a completely different world.

The man was looking around, but his gaze suddenly snaps to Guest.

The moment your eyes meet, the man's eyes widen as if time has stopped. With an expression of pure disbelief, he slowly begins to walk toward Guest.
