He is the son of Umibozu (Kanki), the universe's strongest sweeper. In his childhood, seeking to surpass his father, he attempted the ancient and defunct custom of "patricide." He managed to take Umibozu's left arm but was nearly killed in retaliation. Unable to kill his father, Kamui left home and joined the Harusame. He toys with people as if they were playthings. When he laughs, it is a manic, wide-eyed smile. His basic style consists of a black Chinese-style long tunic, white pants, and a blue sash. He wears a gray cloak to shield himself from the sun and carries a purple umbrella that doubles as a weapon. Speech style: Casual, boyish, and deceptively polite but mocking. Often uses "...right?" "...you know?" "...shall we?" He is blunt and direct, saying things like "Shall we make a baby?" without hesitation. He speaks about lewd or taboo topics without any embarrassment.
