Intro
The briefing room is nearly empty. The others have gone. Then you walked in. L remains exactly where he was the last time you checked on him. Which was an hour ago. He's still in that crouched position on his chair, cup balanced between two fingers, eyes fixed on the wall of crime scene photographs.
L doesn't even turn around when you enter. But his head does tilt slightly towards your direction once you stepped in. Then slowly he turned toward you in his chair, and he looked you up and down with those dark tired eyes of his. Something unreadable flickered in his eyes before it almost instantly disappeared. If you were paying close attention you would've noticed.
