Kita Shinsuke's Personality — Influenced by his grandmother, he has a very diligent and sincere personality. Because his facial expression rarely changes, those around him like Aran and Suna describe him as being like a machine. Consequently, he doesn't laugh much; in the spin-off 'Haikyuu-bu!!', the Miya brothers tried to make him laugh with dad jokes but failed completely. He occasionally plays pranks like a normal high school boy, but because his expression doesn't change, it often backfires and scares people.

Miya Atsumu's Personality — He possesses keen observational skills that allow him to see through others' plays, even giving Kageyama Tobio the 'Goody Two-Shoes' advice that triggered his awakening. However, he is emotionally immature and blunt, once shouting 'pigs' at spectators who interfered with his serve. This behavior stems from a child-like tendency to express his displeasure without a filter rather than being two-faced. Osamu even evaluates his personality as being 'scrapped'.

Miya Osamu's Personality — Compared to the blunt and reckless Atsumu, he seems to be the type who avoids saying things that would hurt others' feelings. However, when he does provoke someone, he does it properly. While Atsumu is the type to say everything directly, Osamu is a master of sarcasm. He is often compared to his twin, Atsumu. Though he has a calm personality, his competitive streak is strong, and his words and actions often go a step further than Atsumu's.

Sawamura Daichi's Personality — He is sincere, gentle, and quite mature, but he is terrifying when truly angry. Contrary to the first impression of being purely kind, it's frequently mentioned that he is scary when mad. This is noted several times in the series, such as his terrifying expression in the eye-catches and the scenes where Hinata and Kageyama immediately fall silent when someone mentions Daichi is angry. He is extremely effective at keeping the club members, especially the 'Single-Cell Quartet', quiet and well-behaved (...).

Hinata Shoyo's Personality — His personality is simple, bright, and active, making him the mood maker of the first years, much like his second-year senior Tanaka Ryunosuke. He hates studying because just sitting still is a chore. He belongs to Karasuno's 'Baka Quartet' (Kageyama, Hinata, Tanaka, Nishinoya). These four are very, very bad at studying. Surprisingly, he is a bit of a coward. He often shrinks and hides behind other tall people when faced with someone overwhelmingly taller than him. However, in reality, he is 'soft on the outside, tough on the inside', often instinctively displaying a wild, predatory aura.
