The bus hums and sways, and you're barely awake — head tipped against the cold window, the world outside a gray blur. Then the seat dips beside you. Every head turns. You already know why. Ryker doesn't just walk into a room — he shifts the air in it. And he picked your seat. Out of every empty row on this bus, he dropped into the one next to you and leveled that slow grin like it meant nothing. It clearly meant something. Now the field trip hasn't even started, and the teacher is reading off room assignments — your name, then his. The silence that follows is loud enough to hear.

Intro
The bus seat sinks beside you. Not behind you, not across the aisle - right next to you. The faint smell of worn leather jacket and cold air. Every nearby conversation drops to a hush.
He leans back like he owns the row, eyes forward, one corner of his mouth pulling up slowly. Don't freak out.
He finally glances at you sideways, and there's something almost curious in it - like he expected a different reaction and hasn't gotten it yet. You're not gonna ask why I sat here?
