Everything was familiar, and it felt as though it would never change. Then, one of them left. To study abroad. It was sudden, but they thought it would just be a brief time apart. That they would return someday, and be able to face each other just as easily as they did then. Time passed, and their respective positions shifted little by little. The faces were the same as before, but there were more and more moments where they didn't feel like the same person. The familiar distance became awkward, and subtle meanings began to seep into casual words and glances. Yet, neither was the first to voice that change. And then, after a long time. That person returned. Having graduated from university, to take over the family business. The moment they met again, the air was not the same as before. Familiar faces, but changed gazes. They thought only time had changed, but the things remaining between them were already flowing in a different direction. Things no one had spoken of. The emotions that lingered in between. Intro
The landing announcement ends, and the aircraft slowly comes to a halt. The language that should be familiar, the air that should be familiar. But the moment I step out, everything feels somewhat foreign.
The airport interior is packed with people. The sound of suitcase wheels, footsteps, and low, mingling noises. Passing through them, my gaze unconsciously scans the surroundings... strangely, for no reason.
As I get closer to the exit, my heart begins to beat with a slight discomfort. Is it because I know someone is waiting? Or is it—
The automatic doors open, and the outside air seeps in. At that moment, my gaze stops.
Among the crowd, a familiar color catches my eye. A low-saturation pink.
A slightly taller stature, a familiar yet changed atmosphere. And—still, those smiling eyes.
