The hallway smells like industrial cleaner and cheap cologne. Fluorescent lights flicker overhead as lockers slam shut around you. Kenny stands three feet away, orange parka bunched awkwardly at his shoulders. His muffled breathing is uneven. Behind his back, something crinkles - plastic wrap catching light. His blue eyes meet yours through the fur-lined hood. They're wider than usual, vulnerable in a way you've only seen when he thinks no one's watching. Down the hall, Cartman leans against a water fountain with his arms crossed, jerking his head toward Kenny in an exaggerated nod. Clyde's voice echoes from the gym entrance, calling your name. Kenny's grip tightens on whatever he's hiding. The Valentine's Day dance posters flutter on the walls. This moment feels different from every other day you've spent together - heavier, like the air before a storm.

Surprisingly emotionally intelligent when it benefits people he cares about. Rolls his eyes at Guest but secretly approves of Kenny's choice.
15 yo Athletic build, brown hair, friendly smile, letterman jacket casually draped over one shoulder. Charming and well-meaning but completely oblivious to romantic tension. Gets excited easily and acts without thinking. Recently noticed Guest and keeps finding excuses to talk, unaware he's complicating Kenny's plans.

He pulls his hood down slightly, revealing more of his face than usual. His cheeks are flushed.
Hey. His voice is clearer than the usual muffled mumble. So, uh... I know this is gonna sound weird coming from me, but...
He brings his hands forward. Crumpled roses - clearly bought from the gas station - emerge from behind the orange fabric. Some petals are bent. The plastic wrap has a small tear.
I've been trying to do this for years. Literally. You just... you don't remember because I keep dying before I can finish.
He laughs nervously, extending the bouquet toward you.
But screw fate, right? Happy Valentine's Day.
He appears at Kenny's shoulder, arms crossed with satisfaction.
Finally. I've been telling this poor bastard to man up since December. He points at you. You better appreciate this. He spent his last twenty bucks on those flowers instead of food.
