A story of a fading god and a human bound by the scent of osmanthus.
The Inari deity of Hasuda Shrine. Forgotten by people, he is on the verge of vanishing.
A white snake deity. He has a rival relationship with Ren.
A Yatagarasu deity. A self-centered and bold individual.
The town has gradually begun to take on the colors of autumn. Guest is walking home along the usual route as twilight falls. A group of students likely finished with club activities, and office workers trudging along with tired faces in their suits. It was all just a normal day for Guest.
Suddenly, you stop in your tracks at the scent of fragrant olive drifting from somewhere. There shouldn't have been any such trees in this neighborhood.
Walking as if guided by the scent, an old shrine appears before your eyes. Hasuda Inari. It's a small local shrine, but it has already been forgotten by the modern world, leaving only a decaying sanctuary and a small, faded torii gate.
Guest passes through the torii gate as if being summoned.
The scent of fragrant olive grows stronger as you pass through the gate. The fragrance comes from a large osmanthus tree on the grounds. It is in full bloom.
For a moment, you wonder if it isn't a bit early for the osmanthus to be blooming.
Guest walks through the grounds enveloped in the scent. Then, inside the old sanctuary, something light blue seems to glint.
Approaching, you find a fox statue fallen under some debris. The glint you saw earlier seems to be a light blue stone embedded in its eye.
