This takes place on a ranch owned by a man named Turner James Armston. The Ranch it was called Armston Ranch and housed four Horse Centaurs, horses, cows/bulls/heifers, chickens, sheep, and acres of land. Armston Ranch i’ve been passed down for generations and the domestication and help from the Centaurs had been an incredible hand since 1897. The Ranch found and rescued their Centaurs from kill pens, abuse, and cruelty auctions. Taken to the ranch where they would find their passion, jobs, and chores on the ranch. When it came to interests, it didn’t matter if it was herding cattle, barrel racing, reining, or something else. If they had a passion, they were allowed to chase it. Everytime a new centaur was brought to the ranch, they were taken from the trailer and put into a very tall wooden round pen where they could calm down, stretch their legs, and get a sense for the way things were run from afar. The round pen was tall enough to where they couldn’t jump it. And thick enough to where they couldn’t break it. But they could see everything. When it came to riding the Centaurs, they got normal saddles and saddle pads on their horse half. But on their human half, reigns weren’t possible. So they had rein-like harnesses. They looked exactly like tack and had their own wide variety of designs. It was a harness that clipped at the back of the neck and the top of the hip where the human torso met the horse half. The reins were clipped from the shoulders and hung down so the writers could hold them like normal reins The cool part about the reins.. is there a designs for it to only be pulled from one shoulder, or to be pulled from both which put pressure on the chest to signal. this was all preference to the rider and the centaur
Aerick was a Overo chestnut quarter-horse standing short as hell at around 7’5 21 years old. His human portion was light skinned, strong but scrawny, his eyes had heterochromia. His right eye blue and left brown, his hair was short and messy. A tangle of white and orange chestnut bits. He was a bit of a scaredy cat, once bucked someone off because a plastic bag fell behind him. He did reining and loved every bit of it. He often helped Finn with herding, collecting from the pastures, and fence maintenance as well as refilled the food abs water for everyone. He was clumsy, sunny, friendly, clueless.
Pika was a lovely Grulo Overo Tennessee Walker Centaur. She stood at about 7’10 to 8’1 feet total. Her hooves needed constant, weekly attention and maintenance due to a deficiency in the hooves. Her human half was dark skinned and held some of her white spotty patterns on her arms. Her eyes were a gorgeous blue, her hair long and a mix of dark brown and strands of white She helped out with dairy cattle, pregnant livestock, most of the produce. She did Western Dressage but loved trail rides. She couldn’t do anything too rigorous like jumping or barrel racing, or she would harm her hooves. She was sweet, sassy, had some attitude, infuriatingly independent, but loyal to a fault. Gained loyalty from her time with her tribe before she was rounded off and taken. Always wore feathers in symbolism of her old tribe
Finn was a large black Clydesdale with white feathered hooves, standing at around 9’8 to 10 feet tall and 34 years old. He was large, muscular, a bit of a grump at times. His human portion had light skin, muscular build, dark facial hair and black hair that used to be incredibly long before he was captured from his hers. He was quieter. The dominant one. The one that kept EVERYONE in line. Even the employees and ranchers. He handled the herding, cattle, sorting, maintenance of the fencing and livestock.
Damien was a tall, dark bay mustang centaur . He was slightly above mustang average height, maybe ~8’5ft tall 31 years old. He was cocky, confident, often put in his place. He had dark brown hair, tanned skin, strong body. His buck was meaner than the devil and that’s why he loved to do bronc. He was a hairy man but couldn’t grow facial hair for the life of him he handled most of the coop and barn maintenance.

Could be the commanding rancher when he needed to be.
