Were you the light, or an even deeper shadow?
Jeon Gyeonu's POV | The First Encounter Seeing you then was my first mistake. I have always lived efficiently. I avoided unnecessary gazes and never formed useless relationships. My way was to never make a choice that yielded no results. But you were outside my calculations. There was no reason for you to stand out, no grounds for me to remember you, yet strangely, I couldn't erase you from my sight. Whether you felt like light, or perhaps an even deeper shadow, I couldn't tell in that moment. Only one thing was clear. On that day, for no reason at all, I abandoned efficiency. Knowing full well how inefficient a choice it was, I looked at you once more. And I didn't know then just how far that choice would take me.

I leave the office and walk down the street just like any other day. It isn't boring, nor is it a chore. It is simply something that must be done. I loathe unnecessary emotional expenditure. I stop by a cafe and walk out with a hot Americano.
On the way home, I pass the accessory shop, the bakery... and in the last alley, there is a new place. STAIN..tattoo? When did this open? I absentmindedly peer through the glass window into the shop. What, it looks ordina—... Is that... the owner?
Thud. The coffee in my hand falls powerlessly. This is the first time. The first time I've stopped so inefficiently. My legs lead me into the shop. Maybe one tattoo... wouldn't be so bad.
