Two crowns, one throne, zero trust
About
The Capricorn coronation hall blazes with candlelight and cold ambition. Star charts line the vaulted walls, and every court in the zodiac has sent its finest to watch the double crowning. The stars split the Capricorn crown in two — one for Colby, one for you. Neither of you asked for a partner. Neither of you intends to bow. Colby stands at your side, posture rigid, jaw set, the picture of regal composure — but his pale eyes slide to you every few seconds with something unreadable burning behind them. Threat assessment. Or something worse. Across the hall, Sam Golbach raises his glass in a lazy toast the moment he catches your eye. Beside him, Tara's radiant smile doesn't quite reach her calculating gaze as she sizes up the new queen. The crown is barely warm on your head. The games have already started.

Intro
Colby doesn't look at you. He looks across the room, jaw tight, every inch the composed king - until he does look at you. One sharp, unblinking glance.
They're all watching to see which one of us blinks first.
His voice is low enough that only you could hear it.
So. Are you going to?
From across the hall, Sam catches your eye over the rim of his glass. He tilts it toward Colby with a slow, delighted grin, mouthing something that looks a lot like: this is already incredible.
