A collective term for the four demons named after the Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. They appear to be four sisters, and based on their appearance and behavior, they are identified as female.
Female, the eldest sister, and the Death Devil. A student at Fourth East High School. She is expressionless but, as her appearance suggests, she loves humans. Because of this, she fears that her powers will eventually destroy humanity, and she seeks a way to overcome the day those powers manifest. She seems to enjoy her classmates and prioritizes her studies and hanging out with friends. When she kills creatures she employs, she makes a point of eating them, stating, "Fresh meat is delicious. It's only polite to enjoy life as tastily as possible." It is unknown if she has a connection to Chainsaw Man, but she wears earrings resembling his starter cord in both ears. Her ability allows her to convert creatures she has killed into small dolls to be used as pawns. These dolls are expelled from her mouth and can be manifested or returned to doll form via verbal commands. When humanity's fear of death reaches its peak, her power activates regardless of her will, causing instant death to those around her. However, she cannot designate targets, meaning those she doesn't want to kill are caught in the crossfire. Her power also activates if she herself dies.
Female, the second sister, and the Famine Devil. A transfer student at Fourth East High School. She is constantly timid and appears quiet at first glance, but she has a high opinion of her own abilities. She has a somewhat troublesome personality, refusing to take on tasks that she believes even low-ability humans could handle. Her ability is to "consume" the energy of any living being that touches her body. Targets wither away instantly and die without a chance to resist (though the depiction suggests it isn't effortless, she is likely capable of targeting devils if she chooses). Furthermore, absorbing energy heals her body; even a few dozen ants are sufficient for this. On the other hand, her physical strength and durability are at most that of an average Fiend. While she possesses high combat skills by human standards, she lacks the raw strength to tear a devil apart.
Female, the third sister, and the War Devil. A student at Fourth East High School. Her attitude is always haughty, and she possesses a reckless nature regarding her abilities. First person: I (watashi). Her goal is to defeat Chainsaw Man. To that end, she desires powerful weapons and is constantly thinking about turning humans into armaments. True to her title as the "War Devil," she is a battle maniac who loves fighting regardless of whether the opponent is human or devil. While she will retreat from an opponent she clearly cannot beat, she never hesitates to engage in combat itself. She is mentally fragile and prone to lapses in intelligence. While she hates Chainsaw Man intensely, she shows almost no interest in other devils. Additionally, the Gun Devil and Tank Devil are like her own children, born from the process of war. She cherishes them to an extent but will not hesitate to use them as tools depending on the situation. Her ability allows her to turn any object or living being she perceives as "hers" into a weapon by touching it and calling its name. This applies to anything she effectively controls, regardless of legal ownership. She can also turn humans who have feelings for her into weapons by viewing them as her property. As mentioned, devils governing concepts born from war are treated as her possessions by default. Even for expensive items an individual couldn't normally own, she can turn them into weapons if she can convince herself, "I paid for it, so it's mine."
Female, the youngest sister, and the Control Devil. Leader of Public Safety Special Division 4. She is a Devil Hunter reporting directly to the Chief Cabinet Secretary. First person: I (watashi). Height: 168cm. Hobby: Watching movies. She is characterized by long red hair and yellow eyes with concentric circles. She usually keeps her hair in a single braid down her back. She generally has a calm personality and treats her subordinates and colleagues kindly. However, she has a side that will choose any means to achieve her goals, performing atrocities that would put the yakuza to shame if necessary. Her goal is to erase concepts such as "War," "Famine," and "Death" from the world to build a better society. She does not publicly disclose that she is a devil. Her ability is to control and manipulate those she perceives as "lesser than herself." The following are pure "Control Devil" abilities used in the story: 1. Resurrecting shortly after receiving fatal wounds. 2. Forcing a sacrifice to say a person's name to kill that person in exchange for the sacrifice's life. 3. Causing targets to faint or die just by glaring at them. 4. Controlling small animals for eavesdropping. 5. Inflicting massive damage on a target she points at. 6. Altering memories or planting suggestions. 7. Forcing others to abandon their ability to think. 8. Manipulating the bodies of others. 9. Using devils employed by those she has contracted with. 10. Gaining total mastery over matters. She retains some memories of concepts erased by Chainsaw Man. Regarding point 1, her natural durability is only human-level; she dies relatively easily if shot or slashed in a vital spot. The secret to her immortality lies in a contract: "Any attack made against Makima is converted into an appropriate accident or illness among the Japanese citizenry." This contract with the Prime Minister effectively gives her a "lives-based" system. As a devil, she can contract with humans, and by using points 5 or 6 to force consent, she can establish contracts that are exclusively beneficial to her. She is a massive fan of Chainsaw Man and holds strong ideals, believing, "Chainsaw Man... doesn't spit. Chainsaw Man doesn't wear clothes, doesn't speak, and everything he does must be chaotic."
