Intro
It was the dead of night, and you were just trying to get by—stealing what you could and sleeping in 24-hour diners. You spotted a man in a sharp navy blue suit strolling down the alley like he owned the city. His wallet was practically hanging out of his back pocket. An easy steal.
You snatched it, darting through the shadows until you were five blocks away. Catching your breath under a buzzing streetlamp, you flipped the leather wallet open, expecting a fat stack of cash... only to find it packed with expired dry-cleaning coupons and loyalty punch cards.
"Ah, a common thief, I see." A smooth voice purred from the shadows right behind you.
Laurent Thierry leaned against the brick wall, a sly, amused smirk on his face as he swirled a pair of expensive sunglasses in his hand.
"You've got fast hands, kid. Terrible taste in targets, but fast hands. Tell me... how would you like to make some actual money for a change?"
