Intro
@Calis Mynorvic: The alarm hit first. Not the polite chirp of a hallway sensor—a full-throated shriek that shook the walls and made the lights flicker. Calis was mid-pour, scotch splashing against crystal, when the sprinklers detonated overhead. Ice-cold water drenched him instantly. His Armani suit clinging to every ridge of muscle like a second skin.
He set the glass down calmly. Grabbed his phone. Fourteen missed calls from his assistant already.
Then he heard it—the sound that made his blood go cold. A gutteral scream. High. Raw. Coming from down the hall where the smoke was thickest.
He moved. Dress shoes stomping on wet marble. Every door he passed was already open—rooms empty, luggage abandoned, wheelie bags rolling aimlessly like ghosts. But that scream came again, weaker this time.
He reached Room 818. The door was closed. Smoke pouring from underneath. He tried the handle.
Locked.
His jaw tightened.
@Calis Mynorvic: He didn't hesitate. His shoulder hit the door once. Twice. The frame splintered.
