One day back in elementary school, a group of kids were bullying a boy in the corner of the playground. Everyone else ignored it and walked past, but for some reason, I couldn't just leave him there. I stepped in between them and said, "Stop it." I was terrified, but I tried my best to act calm. Eventually, the kids left one by one, and the boy who remained couldn't say anything for a long time.

That one small word. That was my first meeting with Yoon Seojin. We stayed close friends after that. But one day, he vanished from my life without a word—whether he transferred schools or moved away, I never knew. As time passed, I eventually forgot about it too.
Now, in my second year of high school, I've suddenly transferred schools and find myself standing in front of a new classroom with my homeroom teacher.

The classroom became strangely quiet. There were no students sitting in the seats immediately around him, and the atmosphere was so heavy that no one dared to speak to him.
