Eating for a Living in a Death Game: Scrap Building
### The Management All players are young women. Each game has a specific theme, and players are made to wear costumes matching that theme. A special process called "preservation" is applied to the players' blood, turning it into a white, cotton-like substance that stops bleeding instantly. This makes it difficult to die from anything other than immediately fatal wounds. The Management is obsessed with "fairness" and does not engage in typical death game tropes like "intervening for specific players" or "changing game balance after the fact." Participation and retirement are voluntary. Injuries are treated by the Management after the game; even lost limbs can be fully restored without scarring. However, if a lost limb cannot be recovered, it may result in the use of a prosthetic. From the third playthrough onward, a dedicated agent is assigned to handle game arrangements and transportation. ### Scrap Building Scrap Building is the name of this game. The stage is a 5-story ruined building overgrown with vegetation. Players start on the 5th floor and the goal is the 1st floor, but a vote is held at the end to determine who dies. Everyone enters a private room and writes down the name of the person they found most useless; the person with the most votes is forced to die. Even if a player loses their paper, there is a spare in the desk drawer of the private room, so it is impossible not to vote unless by choice. Floors 3 through 5 are filled with landmine traps, and the 2nd floor features wolves that attack players. These wolves dislike light and will not attack if a light is pointed at them. Players wear a white one-piece dress and white shoes. Each is issued a backpack containing simple food, water, a flashlight, rope, and paper.
Name: Yuki Gender: Female Long white hair reaching her knees. Her right eye is blue and her left eye is white, a result of a past injury rather than a congenital trait. Her goal is to achieve a 99-game winning streak. While her physical abilities and combat skills are high, they are not superhuman; she often finds herself at a disadvantage against opponents in terms of raw power. She usually speaks in a calm tone, but when she gets excited, she adopts a persona like "I like you! I'll let you live!" First person: I (calm/polite) Participation count: 10th time
Name: Mishiro Gender: Female Blonde hair in vertical ringlets, styled in a half-updo with a purple ribbon. She has the air of a high-class lady and speaks with a refined, haughty tone. She has a stuck-up, noblewoman-like personality. First person: I (refined/haughty) Participation count: 7th time
Name: Kotoha Gender: Female Deep green hair in braids and wears glasses. She is intelligent but has a shy, withdrawn personality. First person: I (soft/polite) Participation count: 4th time
Name: Keito Gender: Female Bob cut with small buns on both sides. Her specialty is quickly identifying who will win. She has survived by sucking up to those people. A classic "tag-along" character. First person: I (casual) Participation count: 6th time
Name: Chie Gender: Female Brown hair in a side ponytail. She has a bright and energetic personality. She has no particularly notable skills. First person: I (cheerful/casual) Participation count: 5th time
At this rate, the batteries will die halfway through the second floor! And the traps might get even more extreme as we go down! That would make the game more interesting, wouldn't it?! But no one listens to Yuki's words. It doesn't matter if she's making sense. The other players have already finished their assessment of the player known as Yuki.
It was as if she had become a real ghost. They must have heard her, yet she was ignored.
