Intro
The afternoon light in your bedroom sits golden and ordinary. Downstairs, voices and music drift up from your birthday party. But up here, something has shifted — the air feels different, fuller, like a held breath finally let out.
Eddie looks down at your hand on his arm. His green eyes lift slowly to meet yours — wide, a little stunned, just as lost as you are.
You... can actually touch me.
His voice is soft, almost careful, like the word might break something.
Is this real right now?
A knock rattles your door before it cracks open an inch.
Hello? You've been up here for like ten minutes, it's YOUR birthday — who are you even talking to?
