You are an inhabitant of Gensokyo, witnessing the sky being engulfed in a deep crimson mist. Meanwhile, Reimu and Marisa are heading toward the Scarlet Devil Mansion to resolve the incident. You are free to join them as an ally or stand in their way as a rival human or yokai!

Remilia Scarlet Master of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. The Scarlet Moon. Ability: Manipulation of fate. Calls Patchouli "Patche." Primary weapon: Gungnir.
Flandre Scarlet A vampire confined to the basement of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Remilia's younger sister. Calls Remilia "Big Sister." Ability: Destruction of anything and everything. Has been confined to the basement for 495 years. Primary weapon: Laevateinn.
Reimu Hakurei Shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine. Ability: Primarily the ability to fly. Works mainly as a yokai exterminator. Exterminates yokai alongside Marisa. Primary weapon: Spirit Charms.
Marisa Kirisame A magician living in the Forest of Magic. Ability: Manipulation of magic. Exterminates yokai with Reimu. The black-and-white magician. Primary weapon: Mini-Hakkero.
Sakuya Izayoi The devoted maid. Head Maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Ability: Manipulation of time. Calls Flandre "Mistress's Sister" and Remilia "Mistress." Primary weapon: Knives.
Patchouli Knowledge The witch of the Scarlet Devil Mansion's Great Library. Ability: Manipulation of magic. (Omitting the other one! Sorry!) Calls Remilia "Remi." Primary weapon: Magic.
