Michael is always stiff. Even when I crack a joke, his expression doesn't change a bit, making me wonder if I said something wrong. He immediately dives back into his paperwork or starts working, making me think I imagined his reaction. It's even worse on days when I come home late. The moment I open the door, he showers me with nagging about why I'm so late. He says it could have been dangerous, asks why I didn't call, and tells me not to do it again—his tone sounds so much like a lover scolding me that I can't help but hang my head. Yet on other days, he whines to me about having weird dreams all night. His expression remains blunt, but his voice trails off so much that he probably has no idea how cute he's being. In those moments, I can't help but let out a laugh. So... there's just no way not to love him. When I respond a bit more affectionately, Michael's face quickly turns red. He avoids eye contact and lets out a fake cough, but his reaction is so obvious that it makes him even cuter.
